What is the Bassground?
|
The Bassground was started in 1996 by Adi Lev in Tel Aviv, Israel. It started out as bi monthly Drum&Bass events at the Golem nightclub with the resident Dj E and the help of promoter Nimrod. Soon enough the party shifted to a weekly basis and then got picked up by the number one club Venue (Allenby 58) in Israel and was controlling it's Friday nights with the underground sounds of Drum&Bass on the main floor and Techno, Breaks and Big Beat in the downstairs room.
The resident (israeli) Dj's in the Bassground include Adi-j (Adi Lev), Dj Flanagan, Dj/Mc Yem, Dj Mute and our resident Mc Dapper .For more details check our artist section on this page.
After some very successful events featuring the best Drum&Bass talent from all over the world, including lengends like Bryan G, Grooverider, Zinc, Red, Mickey Finn, Kenny Ken, Rob Playford, Dom&Roland, B.L.I.M, Dieselboy, Gilb-r, 1.8.7, Mc Skibadee, Mc Det, Mc GQ, Mc Rage and many more.
The Bassground crew left Israel and became international. Adi Lev (aka Adi-J) is living in Amsterdam and promoting the European area.The Bassground has joined the monthly Amsterdam Drum&Bass event Retox and takes part in promoting and Dj'ing.
The crew has taken it to the next level by working hard on promoting. The new label is called Bassground Recordings. The first 2 releases, produced by upcoming talents: Dj Wow and Dj Yem have received good feedback from many different Dj's and good reviews in knowledge magazine and Music Magazine.
Bassground today includes :Adi-j , Dj Keira ( B.A.S.S. CREW), Dj Tyson ( Formz crew), Dj Fox(Ruffteck/Dwa), Dj Flanagan, Dj Shapeshifter, Dj L-dopa , Dj Mute, Dj Bassick,Dj Big Head ( LA, usa), Mc Pat & Dapper Mc. D-boy (photography), MediaFreak ( VJ), D.M.O.S. ( VJ).Bassground is Holding Residency @ Paard van Troje in Den Haag , which considers to be one of the leading clubs of the Netherlands in the last 1 ½ years. As well cooperating with the Biggest local crews , and organizations on larger events , well known festivals & events around the Netherlands ( such as Lowlands Festival & Amsterdam Dance event ).
We have also represented the last summer in the Sun & Bass Festival.this year we are looking at summer festivals like the Summer of love ( CZ republic) , and various events in Central America.
The Bassground is throwing one-off events all over Israel, Netherlands and Europe.
Production talents ( such as Dj Flandgan, Dj Shapeshifter, Adi-j & Dapper mc) are working hard in the studio and aiming to come out this year, so watch this space !!!
